Description

  • This is a set of 16 custom designed curved tracks with a radius of R24 (24 LEGO® studs).
  • Set contains 16 pieces to create a full circle.
  • A curve with R24 radius runs parallel to the original R40 LEGO® curved track with a distance of 8 studs in between tracks or parallel to R32 with a zero studs distance.
  • Dedicated ballast plate: Ballast Plate R24 Set - 8 pieces for 8 R24 tracks

  • R24 curves enables creating even more interesting layouts with parallel curved tracks with a distance of 8 LEGO® studs between the tracks.
  • The distance of 8 LEGO® studs guarantees that trains pass each other safely without collisions.
  • It was designed taking into account all of the LEGO® geometry requirements which makes this part fully compatible with original LEGO® tracks and bricks.
 
Please note that the R24 curved tracks are very tight and work best with LEGO®  60051 and LEGO® 7938 passenger trains. Other, more rigid setups might derail.

Detailed explanation of R24 radius
 
The R24 is the radius measured from the center of the circle to the centerline between the rails using the LEGO® stud as the unit. LEGO® stud is 8mm. The space needed to have the full R24 circle can be calculated as follows: (24 + 4) * 2 * 8mm = 448mm = 0.45m. This measures the diameter (2 * radius) of the outer shape of the track - that's why we added 4 studs in the formula.
 
In general, the formula for calculating the outer diameter of the track circle is:
 
(R + 4) * 2 * 8mm
